ASSET DESIGN CONCEPTS
These concept designs are for the assets within the Charnel House game, in both District 1 and 2.
Bug Farm Pipes & Barrels
The Bug Farms needed something to harvest the bugs with for the residents of District 2 to eat, but I needed to keep the lore of the world in mind when doing this. I made the barrels and pipes of the Bug Farms rusty, bent and almost unusable, and this really helps to paint the picture of how desperate the residents of District 2 are to get some form of sustenance.
'The First Reckoning' Statue
This was one of the first assets I designed for Charnel House, a statue in one of the many dilapidated neo-gothic churches within District 2, something that I had a good time designing. I made the face invisible under the hood of the statue on purpose, to give the statue a mysterious appearance.
'The Three Deaths' Statue
This was one of the first asset concepts that I drew for Charnel House, and I was given a reference to draw from. I made some changes to the facial expressions of the statue's three heads, and I also gave all three heads distinct horn shapes and sizes, to differentiate them. I annotated the sides of the statue to show one of my 3D artist teammates which side was which on the statue.
'The Fourth Pillar' Statue
This statue was the hardest to design, as the twisting plateau wound around the body of the statue was difficult to draw at three different angles, but it worked out very well.
